It stood to reason, I told anyone who would listen, that Father Christmas would have a helicopter. Probably a fleet of helicopters. Self-evidently it was absurd to suggest he flew on a sleigh drawn by enchanted reindeer. Perhaps such things had been permissible in the distant past, when magic stalked the world. Today, however, it just wasn’t good enough. So: helicopters. Only such vehicles would provide St Nick with the necessary combination of speed and hover capability (so as to rappel down your chimney). It seemed likely that the reindeer weren’t wholly an invention, and persisted as mascots at least. The most likely candidate was therefore the Westland WS-61 Sea King – a bulky helicopter still in use by RAF Search and Rescue which, with a few modifications, could surely carry both gifts and two stabled reindeer.source:http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2017/12/25/modern-technology-have-made-father-christmas-real-cost/
